Today’s Recipe : Oven Grilled Pork Ribs with Korean Marinade

Using instant marinade sauce for pork ribs make my cooking easier. For easy clean up, I tried oven grill the pork ribs instead of pan-frying or baking as per packet’s instructions.

I choose to grill the pork ribs because some fats may be released during the grill. This make this dish Healthy.

Salad or appetizer should always be added to all the grilled foods. It is flavorful to enjoy this juicy grilled pork ribs with sweet cherry tomatoes, crunchy cucumber and sour pineapple cubes.


Recipe of Grilled Pork Ribs with Korean Marinade

– 1 Packet of Korean Marinade : 50 grams
– Pork Ribs : 500 grams
– Appetizer : Pineapple cubes, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumber and lettuce.
– Cooking Oil : 1 tbsp

Simple method :

  1. Marinate pork ribs with Korean Marinade sauce for one hour.
  2. Place marinated pork ribs onto a baking tray grease with cooking oil, oven grill at 300°C for 20 minutes until golden brown (oven each side of the pork ribs for 10 minutes, remember to flip them over).

(Note : Cooking time may vary with different cooking devices.)

Satay Beef Balls and Peanut Sauce Recipe

Introduce to you my friends, satay beef balls dipped into savory peanut sauce. This combination is absolutely delicious.

Beef balls are made from minced beef. It is oven grilled and this makes it easy to clean up. Traditionally the meat is served on sticks. I came up with idea of making it into shape of balls for a new tasting experience that I hope to share with you.

The fragrance of this beef balls is from mixed spices and marinate with lemon juice. When they are dipped into peanut sauce, it is a burst of delicious flavor from beef and creamy yummy taste of peanut sauce.

Ingredients :

Minced Beef : 600 grams

Condiments and Spices for Marinade Ingredients :
Lemon Juice : 5 tbsp.
Shallots : 4 pieces
Lemon grass : 1 stalk
Coriander powder : 6 tbsp.
Korma Mix : 1 tbsp.
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
Light Soy sauce : 2 tbsp.
Corn Flour : 3 tbsp.
1 beaten egg white
Sugar : 100 grams
Salt : 1 tsp
Cooking oil : ¼ cup

Note: Korma Mix ingredients are Coriander, Cumin, Fennel, Black Pepper, White Pepper, Cloves, Star Anise and Cinnamon.

For side dishes : 
Lontong (Rice wrap with Banana Leaf)
Canned Pineapple Cubes

Cooking Instructions :

(1) Mix 5 tbsp. of Lemon Juice into the minced beef.

(2) Cover water till half of the shallots and lemon grass. Blend into paste.

(3) Marinate minced beef with blended paste and rest of the marinade ingredients. Leave them overnight in the refrigerator (or at least 2 hours in the refrigerator).

(4) Grease the baking tray and  get ready for grilling.

(5) Shape the marinated minced beef into balls, place them onto the greased tray.

(6) Cover with aluminum foil, oven grill at 250 degree C for 20 minutes.


7. After 20 minutes, flip the balls to the other side and grill without foil for 15 minutes or until desired browning.


(Please note that time for cooking and browning may vary with different ovens).

Peanut Sauce Recipe


Ingredients (A)

Candle Nuts : 5 pieces
Garlic : 5 cloves
Shallots : 3 pieces
Lemon grass : 1 stalk

Spice Powders
Coriander Powder : 3 tbsp
Korma Mix : 1tsp
Turmeric Powder : ½ tsp
Chili paste : 1 to 2 tbsp

Other Ingredients :

Cooking Oil : 1/2 cup
Water : 1 cup
Coconut Milk : 200 ml
Sugar : 100 grams
Salt : ½ tsp
Peanut butter with crunchy nuts : 3 tbsp
Fried grounded peanuts : 100 grams

Cooking Instructions :

(1) Cover half of the ingredients with water. Blend into paste.

(3) Add all spice powders and blended ingredients A into ½ cup of oil, stir fry over medium to low heat until fragrant or chili oil is formed.

(4) Add in Coconut Milk, water, peanut butter, sugar and salt, stir constantly until all the ingredients are dissolved and the sauce thickens.

(5) When ready to serve, add in fried ground peanuts.

Flavorful And Appetizing Capsicum Rendang Chicken Recipe

Hi friends, happy to share with you this chicken and potatoes dish cooked with ready-made Rendang paste.  This fragrant rendang chicken and colorful capsicum is appetizing and healthy. Together with the wheat wrap (Roti Prata) or rice, it is a well balanced meal which is flavorful as well.

Capsicum Rendang Chicken Recipe

Recipe of Capsicum Rendang Chicken (2 -3 servings)
– 1 packet of Rendang Paste : 200 grams
– Chicken thigh (skinless and boneless) : 300 grams (bite size)
– Capsicum 150 grams (or as desired) (bite size)
– 2 potatoes (bite size)
– 1 stalk of lemon grass and a few curry leaves. (to enhance fragrance).

Simple Steps :
(1) Boil the cut potatoes, set aside. (because cooking time for potato is longer than chicken)

(2) With 3 tbsp. of oil over medium heat, stir fry Rendang paste, lemon grass and curry leaves until fragrant. Add in chicken and potatoes, stir fry and mix all ingredients.

(3) Next, add water to cover chicken meat, mix well. Lower the heat, simmer with pot cover until chicken meat is tender and the gravy reaches the right consistency.

(4) Lastly, stir in capsicum and simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Ready to serve with rice or Roti Prata (wheat wrap).
