Satay Beef Balls and Peanut Sauce Recipe
Introduce to you my friends, satay beef balls dipped into savory peanut sauce. This combination is absolutely delicious.
Beef balls are made from minced beef. It is oven grilled and this makes it easy to clean up. Traditionally the meat is served on sticks. I came up with idea of making it into shape of balls for a new tasting experience that I hope to share with you.
The fragrance of this beef balls is from mixed spices and marinate with lemon juice. When they are dipped into peanut sauce, it is a burst of delicious flavor from beef and creamy yummy taste of peanut sauce.

Ingredients :
Minced Beef : 600 grams
Condiments and Spices for Marinade Ingredients :
Lemon Juice : 5 tbsp.
Shallots : 4 pieces
Lemon grass : 1 stalk
Coriander powder : 6 tbsp.
Korma Mix : 1 tbsp.
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
Light Soy sauce : 2 tbsp.
Corn Flour : 3 tbsp.
1 beaten egg white
Sugar : 100 grams
Salt : 1 tsp
Cooking oil : ¼ cup
Note: Korma Mix ingredients are Coriander, Cumin, Fennel, Black Pepper, White Pepper, Cloves, Star Anise and Cinnamon.
For side dishes :
Lontong (Rice wrap with Banana Leaf)
Onions
Cucumbers
Canned Pineapple Cubes
Cooking Instructions :
(1) Mix 5 tbsp. of Lemon Juice into the minced beef.
(2) Cover water till half of the shallots and lemon grass. Blend into paste.
(3) Marinate minced beef with blended paste and rest of the marinade ingredients. Leave them overnight in the refrigerator (or at least 2 hours in the refrigerator).
(4) Grease the baking tray and get ready for grilling.
(5) Shape the marinated minced beef into balls, place them onto the greased tray.
(6) Cover with aluminum foil, oven grill at 250 degree C for 20 minutes.
7. After 20 minutes, flip the balls to the other side and grill without foil for 15 minutes or until desired browning.
(Please note that time for cooking and browning may vary with different ovens).
Peanut Sauce Recipe
Ingredients (A)
Candle Nuts : 5 pieces
Garlic : 5 cloves
Shallots : 3 pieces
Lemon grass : 1 stalk
Spice Powders
Coriander Powder : 3 tbsp
Korma Mix : 1tsp
Turmeric Powder : ½ tsp
Chili paste : 1 to 2 tbsp
Other Ingredients :
Cooking Oil : 1/2 cup
Water : 1 cup
Coconut Milk : 200 ml
Sugar : 100 grams
Salt : ½ tsp
Peanut butter with crunchy nuts : 3 tbsp
Fried grounded peanuts : 100 grams
Cooking Instructions :
(1) Cover half of the ingredients with water. Blend into paste.
(3) Add all spice powders and blended ingredients A into ½ cup of oil, stir fry over medium to low heat until fragrant or chili oil is formed.
(4) Add in Coconut Milk, water, peanut butter, sugar and salt, stir constantly until all the ingredients are dissolved and the sauce thickens.
(5) When ready to serve, add in fried ground peanuts.
